Qualifications of Classroom Teachers
Quality Life Academy ensures that all instructional personnel meet one of the state-approved qualification pathways required under section 1002.421(1)(h), Florida Statutes. Each teacher must provide documentation demonstrating one of the following:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in any subject. Teachers must provide a copy of a diploma or a completed transcript as proof of degree attainment.
2. Three or More Years of K to 12 Teaching Experience
A minimum of three years of teaching experience in grades K to 12. Teachers must provide written verification from a previous employer confirming instructional service.
3. Special Skills, Knowledge, or Expertise
Specialized skills, knowledge, or expertise that qualify the individual to provide instruction in K to 12 subjects. Acceptable documentation may include:
- Professional certifications
- Professional development training
- Curriculum or instructional training certificates
- Evidence of specialized experience related to K to 12 instruction
A parentally placed private school student with a disability does not have an individual right to receive some or all of the special education and related services that the student would receive if enrolled in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
